A Prince Does The Weather…no not me.

Even Mother Nature is taking a bit of a spa break today, aside from a some cumulus clouds developing there is really no significant weather happening around the KC region today. Highs should max out in the 70-75° and we’ll tack on another 5° tomorrow, with another 5° added to that on Tuesday…eventually we’ll reach the mid-upper 80s by the end of the week with rain chances that continue to look rather low for the next 7 days.

With that said, and as I’ve talked about recently, we are entering the wettest time of the year and for what it’s worth sometimes little disturbances can generate at least the chance of rainfall. My guess is that the atmosphere would be too dry to support much of anything, but for the sake of argument the GFS is spitting out a wave, and has done so for the last couple of days for the end of the week. Here it is…you can clearly see it moving through the middle part of the country on Thursday PM

Watching A House Get Wrecked

This blog will sort of go all over the place today, because in all honesty there really isn’t a lot going on today, although there have been show showers across N MO along the 36 highway corridor this AM, but those have started to weaken a bit this afternoon. It’s been interesting watching the temperatures because there was quite a bit of sunshine for many areas from KC southwards this AM and as a result we’re seeing temperatures range from the mid 50s across N MO to near 70 close to the Sedalia/Clinton area as of this typing. A cold front came across the region last night and is allowing cooler/drier air to filter into the area, hence the reason why highs today will be running about 5° below average.

Fallen Officer Remembered in Atchison

ATCHISON, Kan. — Five months ago on Wednesday, an Atchison police officer was shot and killed in the line of duty. Sgt. David Enzbrenner left behind a wife and three daughters.

On Wednesday, each of them watched as the community said thank you for his sacrifice. Sgt. Enzbrenner was a 24-year veteran of the Atchison Police Department. He committed his life to the job and his fellow officers. The only thing he loved more was his family, his wife Kerri and their three girls.

Five months to day, the community gathered to remember a fallen husband, father and officer. It hasn’t been easy but Kerri Enzbrenner and her girls are coping.

“Have you heard of that Blake Shelton song ‘I’m Doing Good for the Shape I’m in’?” said Enzbrenner’s widow, Kerri. “That kinda says it all.”

She says the girls are tough thanks mostly to her husband and the four of them take it day by day.

Neb. Man Changes Name to ‘Tyrannosaurus Rex’

YORK, Neb. — A Nebraska man has changed his name to Tyrannosaurus  Rex — more specifically, Tyrannosaurus Rex Joseph Gold.

Formerly know as Tyler Gold of York, Neb., the 23-year-old entrepreneur can now shake hands at business meetings and introduce himself as an extinct dinosaur. According to the New York Times, Gold said he wanted to change his name to the T-Rex designation because it’s “cooler.”

“Also, as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable,” he said.

But perhaps no other name is more recognizable than the man who went from Jeffrey Drew Wilschke to Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop. You remember him, right? We all do.

If you were to change your name, what would it be? Leave it in the comment section below!
